FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where exactly is Studio 26?

Admittedly just off the beaten track, Studio 26 enjoys all the benefits of a secluded location, such as ample free parking facilities and a peaceful environment, (something that we consider vital for a fully relaxing treatment session). We are approximately five miles south of Glasgow city centre in the Muirend district, where Gavinton Street turns off (the main) Clarkston Road. Studio 26 lies at the very end of Gavinton Street, and in our opinion, is a hidden gem well worth looking for.

What does ‘holistic’mean?

The holistic philosophy views the human being as a complete and unique entity comprising body, mind and spirit. The holistic approach to wellbeing, therefore, does not consider only obvious physical symptoms, but includes mental and emotional health too. Holistic therapists recognise the inextricable connection linking body and mind, and how the state of one inevitably affects that of the other. Factors such as lifestyle, diet and the environment are also deemed relevant. It is on these principles that holistic diagnoses are made and treatment plans devised.

How do I decide which treatment is best for me?

At Studio 26 we endorse an individual approach with each client, based on the simple philosophy that everyone is different and their needs unique. Consequently, we encourage new and existing clients to take full advantage of our free consultation programme, which is available to anyone requiring information on a general or personal level. Our friendly therapists will take time to establish your needs, explain what different therapies involve and advise which may be most beneficial to you.
Alternatively, our Treatment Finder page provides a useful and more general guide to symptoms and corresponding treatments.

Do I need permission from my doctor before treatments?

For most clients, medical consent is not necessary pre-treatment, however certain health conditions merit written approval from a G.P. or consultant and may render some treatments unsuitable. At Studio 26, safety is paramount and prior to any treatment every client completes a comprehensive health questionnaire designed to highlight any contra-indications. Where a health condition precludes a particular treatment, we will make every effort to offer a suitable alternative.

Does Studio 26 have disabled access?

Yes. Since refurbishment, our new premises are specifically equipped to accommodate the needs of disabled clients, including wheelchair access.
